Golf courses in Idaho

Idaho's 98 mapped courses by town, from Boise's municipals to McCall's 27 holes and Sun Valley, with the state's split and per-capita numbers.

Idaho golf courses by city

Cities with two or more mapped courses have their own page; every course has its own page too.

Boise 7 McCall 6 Coeur DAlene 4 Idaho Falls 4 Pocatello 3 Post Falls 3 Sun Valley 3 Twin Falls 3 Caldwell 2 Eagle 2 Hayden Lake 2 Lewiston 2 Meridian 2 Moscow 2 Nampa 2 Rexburg 2 Sandpoint 2

McCall is a mountain town with one 27-hole course, and it shows 6 entries in Yardage because the Aspen, Birch and Cedar nines and the eighteens they combine into are each mapped. That is the shape of Idaho golf: a short mountain season, a long list of small towns and a lot of nines. Yardage has 98 Idaho courses mapped, 71 eighteen-hole and 27 nine-hole, a 27.6% nine-hole share that ranks 21st, and 47 of the state’s 64 postal cities have a single course.

Boise leads with 7, including Warm Springs on the Boise River, and the municipal courses in Caldwell, Idaho Falls, Blackfoot, Rexburg and Twin Falls are mapped along the Snake River Plain. In the panhandle, Coeur d’Alene shows 4, among them the resort course with its floating green, and Circling Raven in Worley is mapped. Sun Valley’s three courses, 45 holes in all, are mapped, the resort course, White Clouds and Elkhorn, and so is the University of Idaho course in Moscow.

The valleys play from roughly April into October. McCall, Sun Valley and the other high towns wait for the snow to leave and are done when it comes back. Idaho has 4.83 courses per 100,000 residents, 21st in the course census and above the national figure, one course for every 20,712 people, and holds 0.65% of the catalog.

Anyone driving in for a mountain weekend should skim our guide to how to size up a new course; the national directory lists every state city by city.

Enter the course or the town, Nampa, Lewiston or Sandpoint, and see whether your Idaho course is in our catalog.

Missing a course?

Tell us the course and the town and we will look at mapping it; a nine in a town of 800 counts as much as a resort.

Missing a course, or a green that looks wrong? Email support@theyardageapp.com with the course name and city and we will map it.
